General Questions
What types of counseling services do you offer?
I provide counseling for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Treatment focus can include anxiety, depression, compulsions, emotional regulation, people-pleasing, self-esteem, self-harm, shame, stress, and relationships. I also specialize in trauma recovery, PTSD, and grief & loss.
Do you offer Christian-based counseling?
Yes! I am a Christian counselor and integrate Christian values into therapy for those who seek faith-based guidance. However, I respect each client’s beliefs and tailor my approach to their individual needs.
How do I know if counseling is right for me?
Counseling is beneficial for anyone experiencing emotional distress, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, grief, or simply seeking personal growth. If you’re unsure, I am happy to discuss your concerns and determine if counseling is a good fit for you.
What happens in a typical session?
Sessions provide a safe and supportive space to discuss your concerns. We work together to explore challenges, set goals, and develop personalized strategies for healing and growth.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes! Your privacy is a priority. Everything shared in counseling is confidential, except in cases where disclosure is required by law (e.g., harm to self or others).
Appointments
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can schedule an appointment by calling.
Do you offer virtual or online therapy?
Yes! Online is a primary method of counseling.
How long is a counseling session?
Sessions typically last 53 minutes, though shorter or longer sessions are available upon request.
What is your cancellation policy?
I request at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. However, I understand life happens and work with clients. Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee.
Insurance and Billing
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! I currently accept the following insurance plans: SelectHealth, Cigna, Aetna, and Optum. Additional plans are in progress.
What if my insurance isn’t accepted?
If I don’t accept your insurance, you can opt for self-pay or you may check if your plan offers out-of-network reimbursement.
What are your self-pay rates?
Self-pay rates may vary. Please contact me for detailed pricing.
Do you offer sliding scale fees?
I offer limited sliding-scale options based on financial need. Please contact me to discuss availability.
Specialized Counseling
What is EMDR therapy, and how does it help with trauma?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences by reprocessing distressing memories in a safe and structured way.
Do you offer grief counseling?
Yes. My grief and loss counseling provides a compassionate space to process emotions, find healing, and navigate life after loss.
Getting Started
What should I expect in my first session?
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other, discuss your concerns, and establish therapy goals. It’s a safe space to share at your own pace.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on your goals and needs. Some clients find relief in a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support.
